Obituary for Jerry Wood
He was born September 15, 1946 in Hamburg, Iowa to Charles and Syliva (Wooten) Bruce.
Jerry worked as an inspector for the USDA retiring in 2006. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and served on the USS Ranger and USS Kitty Hawk. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He married Ellen Makings on January 24, 1970 in Rockport, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his Step Father, Floyd Wood.
Jerry is survived by his wife, 1 son, Ryan Wood of the home, 1 daughter, Cassidy Welton and husband Brent, Joplin, Mo., and 1 granddaughter Shelby, Joplin, Mo.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin, Mo.
