Obituary for Jack L. Watts

Jack L.  Watts
Jackie L. “Jack” Watts, age 80, passed away on Tuesday January 19, 2016, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness.
Jack was born on October 28, 1935 in Joplin, the son of the late Don Watts and Sylvia (Couch) Watts Cavender. He has been a lifelong area resident. He married Beulah Holden on June 8, 1956 in Joplin. Together they raised five daughters. She preceded him in death in 1999. He then married Wandalee Kennon Crane on February 20, 2008.
Jack worked as a machinist for Teledyne, retiring in the late 1980’s. Following retirement, he worked a number of various jobs, he was teasingly known as “Jack of all Trades”. He was a longtime member of Second Assembly of God, where he served as Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent and a Deacon. He was also a licensed Minister. He was a true ambassador of the Lord. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and watching sports on TV. He loved telling funny stories and jokes to any who might listen. He was a wonderful husband, daddy, and granddad.
He is survived by his wife Wandalee Watts, Joplin; four daughters, Ywacheta Kay Kalinowski and husband Steve, Sand Springs, Ok., Cyndi Smith and husband Paul, Carthage, Mo., Jackie Bunch and husband Steve, Stark City, Mo., and Janna Schoenhals and husband Craig, Nixa, Mo.; son-in-law, Tim Wright and wife Beth, Joplin; three step-sons, Wally Nielson, of Wyoming, Danny Neilson and wife Glenda, Faulda, Mn., and Ben McCarty, Elizabeth Town, Ky.; two step-daughters, Rickie Wilson and husband Bud, Joplin, and Mia Wireman and husband Sean, Creedmore, Nc.; one brother, Joe Cavender and wife Jeri, Greenfield, In.; twenty-two grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Terri Wright in 2014.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Second Assembly of God. Reverend John Veazey will officiate. Burial will be in Carl Junction Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Jack’s grandsons.
The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Second Assembly of God. Memorial contributions may be given to the Missions Fund at Second Assembly of God.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
