Obituary for Tom Messner

Tom  Messner
Tom B. Messner, age 64, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday June 7,2018, at his home, following a long battle with bad health.

Tom was born on March 1, 1954 in Fort Jackson Columbia, Sc., the son of Jack and Theba (Turnbull) Messner. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1972. He was a Catholic. He married Mary Lou Renfro on November 9, 1979 in Miami, Ok., and together they raised two children. Tom worked thirty years for F.A.G. Bearings. He enjoyed hunting and playing golf. His favorite things in life were his three grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Mary Lou Messner, Joplin; his daughter, Nicki Shelley and husband Chase, Joplin; his son, Dustin Messner and wife Erica, Joplin; three grandchildren, Brecklyn Shelley, Austin Shelley, and Raylen Messner; his parents, Jack and Theba Messner, Joplin; three brothers, twin brother, Tim Messner, Joplin, Mike Messner, Joplin, and Frank Messner, Carl Jct., Mo.; and three sisters, Margaret Campbell, Joplin, Susan Smith, Aurora, Mo., and Karen Perry, Nashville, Tn.

A memorial visitation will be held 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Mason-Woodard Chapel.
