In October of 1961, Lee and Ann Mason fulfilled their dream and opened their mortuary.
In early 1976 Wayne and Dee Woodard joined the business, and in June of that year the name changed to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel.
On November 1, 1978 a fire completely destroyed the original building, and due to the commercialization of Rangeline Road, a decision was made to relocate on East Seventh Street. The new building is conveniently located and provides the comfort families deserve.
In September of 2001, Wayne Woodard passed away. Recently Wayne's son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Kim Woodard, and long time business associate, Randy Wilson and his wife Carrie acquired the business. Today we truly remain a family owned and operated business, with Austin Woodard the third generation now working with the funeral home.
In order to serve those client families that want cremation we have built a cremation facility on site, built in 2010.
The funeral home is now owned and operated by Bruce and Kim Woodard.
