Obituary- Daisy Herndon

Neck City, Mo. Daisy Marie Herndon, 66, Neck City, Mo. went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning February 22, 2013, at her home after a long illness.

Daisy was born on Dec. 21, 1946 in Neck City, Mo. to William and Louise Dodson. She graduated from Alba High School in 1966. She worked for many years at Motorola and FAG Bearings. She was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her friends, family, and church family. Her joy in life was her grandchildren.

Daisy married Larry Cawyer in 1963, and he preceded her in death. She married Lavon “Crack” McCracken in 1969, and he preceded her in death. She had two daughters, Laura Marie and Leanna Lynn, who also preceded her in death. She married Ira Dean Herndon in 1991, and he survives.

She is also survived by three sisters, Margaret Hole, and Mildred Miller, both of Neck City, Mo., and Karen Williams, Joplin, Mo., two step-daughters, Rosie Ford and Mona Beaunoyer, and two step sons, Dean Herndon and David Herndon, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday February 27 2013 at the New Providence Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Shumaker officiating. Burial will follow at the Friends Cemetery, Purcell, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00pm on Tuesday February 26, 2013 at the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Herndon family fund in care of the funeral home.
