Obituary for Della Belle Kennedy (Throop)
Della was born on June 30, 1933 in Duenweg, Mo., the daughter of the late Andrew and Alice (Comer) Throop. She has been a lifetime area resident. She worked for Modine Manufacturing for many years before retiring in 1998. She was a member of Christ’s Church of Oronogo.
Della is survived by one son Wayne Kennedy and wife Vicki, Springdale, Ar.; two daughters, Linda Coiner, Joplin, and Karen Carnes, Joplin; two sisters, Mildred Robbins and husband Archie, Joplin, and Carolyn Throop, all of Joplin; seven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Andy Merle, Gene, Dutch, and Smokey Throop; and an infant sister, Lois Throop.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin with Pastor Ken Ansley, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m.
Contributions to Ronald McDonald House in lieu of flowers, in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
