Obituary for Robert Lee Morgan

Robert Lee  Morgan
Robert Lee “Bob” Morgan, age 61, of Neosho, Mo., passed away on Sunday February 7, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born on November 19, 1954 in Granby, Mo., the son of the late Alva Edward and Edna Faye (Grieb) Morgan. He served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1997. Following his career in the Air Force he worked a short time for Oxford Home Healthcare. From 2000-2003 he worked for the Newton County Jail, and in May of 2003 he became a part of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors, and spending time with his grandchildren, who called him “Grandpa” and “Papa Bob”. It has been said by many “That Bob Morgan was one of the nicest guys that anyone could ever know.”
Bob married Barbara Bishop Cooper on November 2, 2008 in Joplin, and she survives. Additional survivors include, one son, Josh Morgan and his wife Michelle, Sapulpa, Ok.; one daughter, Jennifer Begbie and husband Shane, Jenks, Ok.; one step-son, Daniel Cooper and wife Chrissie, Kansas City, Mo.; three step-daughters, Lindsey Andrews and husband Josh, Neosho, Mo., Megan Pogue and husband Scott, Sarcoxie, Mo., and Abby McDaniel and husband Jo, Neosho, Mo.; four brothers, Wayne Morgan and wife Jo, Diamond, Mo., Raymond Morgan, Kansas City, Mo., Carl Morgan, Diamond, Mo., Mike Morgan, Joplin; one sister, Kay Link and husband Barry, Diamond, Mo.; nineteen grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lea Smith Morgan.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Josh Branham and Pastor Scott Pogue will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D.
The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Building Fund at Fairview Baptist Church in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
