Norma Jean Crossley Gregory, age 83, of Joplin, MO, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at The Arbors of Silver Creek.
Norma was born on January 6, 1933, in Baxter Spring, KS, to the late W. Tom and Helen “Parker” Allen. Norma graduated from Riverton High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kansas State Teachers College and her Master’s in Education from the University of Arkansas. Norma was an elementary school teacher in Bruno, AR, Galena, KS, Joplin, MO and Clark Co, NV. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Joplin, MO, the Eastern Stars and the Rebekah Club. Norma truly loved teaching, tutoring and teaching Sunday School classes on her days off.
Norma was married to Leslie Ray Crossley and later to Floyd F. Gregory, both who have preceded her in death. Norma was also preceded in death by her brother, Don Allen, and a granddaughter, Victoria Lynn Clardy.
Norma is survived by three sons: David Crossley and wife Debbie of Joplin, MO, Vincent Crossley and wife Melodie of Oronogo, MO and Ralph Gregory and wife Stephanie of Carterville, MO; two daughters: Tammy Terrazas and husband Jaime of Neosho, MO and Debra Wingo of Neosho, MO; several grand and great grandchildren; a sister, June Schlosser of Brownsville, OR, and a cousin, Suzanne Kee of Tulsa, Ok.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory with Vickie Hager officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist, Joplin, Mo.
